Stories of Change
Impact through people
Behind every statistic is a real person whose life has been transformed. These are their stories of courage, resilience, and hope.
Education Success
Sunita's return to the classroom
Sunita, 14, dropped out in Class 5 when her father fell ill. For 3 years, she worked in fields to support her family. When our mobile learning center came to her village, trained women teachers convinced her family to let her return. Today, she's a Class 8 topper, has taught 32 girls basic English, and dreams of becoming a teacher herself. Her younger sister now attends school regularly.
Elderly Healthcare
Harbhajan ji's new lease on health
At 76, Harbhajan ji lived alone in a remote village, struggling with uncontrolled diabetes and high blood pressure for 8 years. Our community health worker visited weekly, connected him with free teleconsultations, delivered subsidized medicines, and organized exercise sessions. His vitals are now stable, depression has lifted, and he leads storytelling hours for grandchildren, passing on traditional wisdom.
Child Rights
Rani's journey from child labor to education
Found working in a brick kiln at age 9, Rani had never seen the inside of a classroom. Our team worked with local authorities to rescue her and 12 other children. Through bridge courses, counseling, and family support programs, Rani caught up on 4 years of learning in 18 months. She now attends government school, loves mathematics, and wants to become an engineer.
Youth Livelihood
Nadeem's livelihood leap
Nadeem, 19, left school after Class 10 due to family pressure to earn. Through Pravaah's automotive skills training, he learned vehicle repair, workplace communication, and financial planning. He secured an apprenticeship at a repair shop, now earns ₹12,000 monthly, and mentors 5 youth from his community every weekend. His success motivated his younger siblings to continue education.
Community Leadership
Savitri Devi's community health leadership
After her husband's death, Savitri Devi, 68, felt isolated and depressed. Our elderly care program trained her as a peer counselor. She now organizes monthly health camps, monitors 45 senior citizens in 3 villages, has learned to use a smartphone for emergency calls, and helps others navigate government health schemes. She says helping others gave her life new purpose.
Girl Child Protection
Priya's escape from child marriage
At 15, Priya's family planned her marriage. Our field team, working with local police and child protection services, intervened. We enrolled her in residential coaching for Class 10 exams, provided counseling for her family, and connected them with livelihood programs. Priya scored 87% in her boards, is now in college studying nursing, and actively campaigns against child marriage in 8 villages.
