Our Story
A grassroots legacy transformed into a foundation for change
From humble beginnings as a neighbourhood tuition centre and eldercare circle in 2002, Bhual Singh Foundation now operates integrated programmes across India. We listen first, co-create solutions with communities, and stay for the long haul so that interventions are sustainable and self-owned.
Our teams emerged from the very communities we serve—women leaders, youth mentors, doctors, and educators who saw first-hand how structural gaps held back entire generations. By building their capacity and enabling local leadership, we ensure every programme reflects lived realities and shared aspirations.
The Education Crisis: In rural India, over 40% of children drop out before completing Class 8. Many walk 5+ kilometers to reach the nearest school, often on empty stomachs. Parents, especially mothers who never attended school themselves, struggle to help with homework or understand the value of education beyond immediate survival needs.
Today, Bhual Singh Foundation brings together data-driven insight and compassionate care. We partner with panchayats, municipal bodies, CSR allies, and social enterprises to align investments with the dreams of families navigating poverty, migration, and neglect.
The Elderly Healthcare Gap: India's elderly population is growing rapidly, yet 70% lack health insurance or pension support. Many live alone in villages after children migrate to cities. Chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and arthritis go untreated for years, leading to preventable disabilities and premature deaths.
Our Integrated Approach
Community-Led Solutions
We hire and train local women as teachers, health workers, and community organizers. This creates employment while ensuring cultural sensitivity and long-term sustainability. Every program is co-designed with community members, not imposed from outside.
Holistic Child Development
Education isn't just about textbooks. We provide nutritious meals, health checkups, counseling, sports, arts, and life skills training. We work with families to address child labor, early marriage, and gender discrimination that prevent girls from learning.
Dignified Aging Care
Our elderly care goes beyond medical needs. We organize cultural programs, spiritual gatherings, exercise classes, and intergenerational activities. Seniors mentor youth, share traditional knowledge, and remain active community members, not burdens to be hidden away.
Vision
A future where every child learns with confidence, every elder ages with dignity, and every community has the resources to thrive independently.
Mission
- Deliver continuum programmes that connect education, health, and livelihoods.
- Amplify community leadership, especially women and young changemakers.
- Advocate for policy reforms and systems that keep dignity at the centre.
